The Mills lab is looking for a postdoctoral scientist to examine the influence of specific fiber chemical structure on gut microbial ecology and strain consumption pattern. The ideal candidate would have expertise and/or familarity with anaerobic microbiology, microbiota analyses (metagenomics), bacterial genomics, genetics and physiology.
Join our research team to make a difference in the treatment of patients with cancer. Arcus Biosciences is an exciting young company founded on the vision of creating new cancer therapeutics through the utilization of unexploited insights in immunology and cancer and stromal biology. The company was formed in 2015 by a group of seasoned researchers from the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. We are located in the San Francisco Bay area, in the heart of the world’s largest biotechnology research hub.
The Biology group is seeking self-motivated, collaborative, and technically skilled researcher with expertise and prior experience in the field of immunology who wishes to play a key role in advancing novel immunotherapy drug candidates from the discovery phase into the clinic.
We are currently seeking applications for two post-doctoral positions relating to the functional and comparative genome analysis of lactic acid bacteria and bifidobacteria. The existing research team comprises a large, dynamic and high-achieving group of post-doctoral researchers, PhD students and research assistants, and is embedded within the School of Microbiology and APC Microbiome Ireland with associated state-of-the-art equipment and infrastructure. Details of the two available positions are presented below.

The Laboratory of Dr. Heather Painter in the Division of Bacterial, Parasitic and Allergenic Products (DBPAP) in the Center for Biologics and Evaluation Research (CBER), at the White Oak, MD campus (Washington, DC Suburbs) of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is seeking two Postdoctoral Fellows to work on projects involving gene regulation of human malaria parasite, Plasmodium falciparum. This research will exploit the unique features of Plasmodium gene regulation to design vaccine intervention strategies.

3/12/21 - The Simons Foundation is now accepting applications for postdoctoral fellowships to support basic research on fundamental problems in marine microbial ecology, with an emphasis on understanding the role of microorganisms in shaping ocean processes, and vice versa.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and organized critical thinker to join our research group. The focus of our group is streptococcal interactions with host glycan structures. These interactions are critical in colonization of the oral cavity and development of infective endocarditis. We are looking for someone with experience in a range of molecular biology and biochemical skills including bacterial mutagenesis and protein expression. Experience with bacterial binding assays, microscopy, and bioinformatics is a plus.
