Postdoc: RNA Virology - University of California, Irvine
Microbiology & Immunology
A postdoctoral scholar position is available in Dr. Bert Semler’s laboratory at the University of California, Irvine in the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics and the UCI Center for Virus Research. The position is fully funded by a private foundation for up to three years. Three major areas of RNA virology research are being investigated: (1) Understanding the molecular basis of enterovirus persistence in cardiac cells; (2) Generation of novel rabies virus vectors for neuronal circuit tracing; and (3) Development of novel therapeutics against SARS-CoV-2. These projects use a wide range of experimental tools in molecular virology and cell biology.
