Welcome to the University of Michigan’s Microbiome Core

 

We offer services and resources to microbiome researchers from across campus and beyond. Please use our MiCores website when you are ready to submit samples.

CURRENT PROCESSING TIME: approximately 3 WEEKS from date of sample delivery.

Please note that the core will be closed for the holiday break from December 21st, 2022 and reopen January 2nd, 2023. If you any inquiries or would like to submit samples, we will be available till 4pm on Tuesday, December 20th

Our services include:

          Bacterial RNA-seq
          High Throughput Extraction of Nucleic Acids  
          Microbial Community Profiling - (16S, ITS, and EMP 16S)
          Microbial Whole Genome Sequencing
          Strain Collection Database
          **MALDI - microbial isolate identification, our newest service **

 

The Microbiome Core is housed in the Medical Science Research Building I (MSRB-I). We provide services for the National Mouse Metabolic Phenotyping Centers (MMPC) and are allied with the UM Center for Gastrointestinal Research (UMCGR).
